The play is set in Dunedin. Bernard and Sally are a couple who are unable to conceive children and decide to seek a surrogate mother. Peter and Sally Boon are a couple who want to improve their lot in life and respond to the Longmans' quest.
However, Bernard has some very set and different views on surrogacy and what it involves. Peter is not very fond of Bernard's ideas. The machinations and accidental events of the relationships create an interesting interplay between all of the members of both families. |
